Volume 19, Number 4  December 2007
The four weeks  between Thanksgiving and
Christmas holidays will be filled with good
learning time and fun activities. We came back to school to our wonderful Holiday Store. Thank you to all the parents who worked very hard to provide delightful gifts for our students to purchase at a very low price to give to their families. Not only does our PTO organize and run the Holiday Store, but they give vouchers to students who may not otherwise be able to purchase a gift. What a delight to see students go home with wrapped gifts and smiles on their faces!
Third grade, under the direction of Mrs. Janna O’Conner, will be presenting their music program on December 20th. I’m grateful for all the hard work Mrs. O’Conner has put into this show, researching, writing a script and putting together a beautiful presentation of pictures to support our students as they discover and sing about holiday lights in Edmond as our beautiful city grew through the past century.
Remember to dress your children warmly for the weather. We will get them outside for recess whenever possible. Please continue to check the Lost & Found when you are in the building. Parents seem to be able to recognize children’s belongings when the kids can’t.
We have been having a number of students arriving at school very early. Parents, please remember that you are responsible for the supervision of your children until teachers come on duty at 8:05. Teachers who arrive earlier do so in order to work in their classrooms in preparation for the day. Please do not drop your children off before 8:05.

Northern Hills is slated for $4,700,000 in renovations and room addition on the December 11th bond issue. Please mark your calendars and remember to vote on that important issue . Pending the passing of the bonds, we will immediately begin planning and construction will follow this spring. We look forward to the future removal of all portables with every class inside the main building, and a beautiful new front on the building.
Thank you again for entrusting us with your precious children.
