On April 25, our third grade students will be reenacting the Oklahoma Land Run as part of their study of Oklahoma history.  This is a day filled with early statehood activities bringing history to life for our students.  Thank you to the parents who have put this special day together for our students.
I would like to remind you to please put your child’s name in coats, jackets, sweatshirts and lunchboxes so that we can appropriately return them when they are lost.  Unclaimed and unmarked heavy coats will be donated to the Hope Center the week end of the month.
April 2nd and 3rd are the dates the district has set for kindergarten pre-enrollment.  Kindergarten parent orientation is scheduled at Northern Hills on Tuesday, April 22, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Pre-kindergarten application period will run from April 14-25 with lists being posted on April 30.
Again I wish to express my appreciation for all you continue to do in support of me, Northern Hills, our teachers and students.

               Respectfully,
               Nellie Sizemore

Dear Northern Hills' Parents,
I hope Spring Break was fun and restful.  Guidance lessons for March dealt with discrimination.  Ask your children about the video they watched.  Mrs. Baim let me use a book called HELP that told the story about how we can hurt one another by listening to rumors and gossip.  The discussions were wonderful; we have the brightest students here at Northern Hills!
The OCCT Tests will be given this month!  April 10 through 17 are the dates we will be testing our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.
Parents, it is important to have your child or children at
school on time every day during our testing week.  Testing begins promptly at 9:00.  If your child comes to school after 9:00, they will not be permitted to enter their classroom, and they will have to do a make-up test the following week.  Your child will be more comfortable in their classroom environment.  The make-ups will not be done with their teacher or in their classroom.  Eating a healthy, high protein breakfast will keep their tummies full.  This is very important…not to mention a good night’s sleep!  Encourage your child to do their best.  If you see unusual test anxiety, please call me so I can reassure them.  Please refrain from making dental or other appointments that can be delayed until after testing.
Please
remember to put
your child's name in coats, jackets, and lunchboxes so that we can return lost items.
